FUM! FUM! JAZZ! is Joni Witzi Ensemble's Christmas offering, in jazz-quartet format: a concert that revisits beloved Christmas melodies through a sound world that travels from swing to blues, from the flavour of New Orleans to Afro-Cuban rhythms, venturing into other corners of modern music along the way
Drawing on a repertoire that belongs to our collective imagination, Joni Witzi has written new arrangements that preserve its essence while transforming it into a creative experience rooted in jazz and open to the languages that meet within it. Room for improvisation, dialogue between the musicians, and a distinctive voice shaped by diverse influences combine with an on-stage energy that bridges tradition and the contemporary.
At the head of a four-piece band, Joni Witzi (drums) shares the stage with Koldo Munné (alto sax, clarinet and vocals), Sergi Zaragoza (piano and keyboards) and Pau Rosés (electric bass).
